Zuriñe Zarandona
PSYCHOLOGIST
I am Zuriñe, a clinical and educational psychologist specializing in neurodevelopmental disorders and learning difficulties. For as long as I can remember, I have felt a deep connection with children; I always knew my path would lead me to them.
I studied Psychology at the University of Santiago de Compostela and moved to Madrid to specialize with a Master’s in Early Childhood Intervention at the Complutense University. It was there that I met my partner, and together we founded our own intervention center. Over 24 years, it has evolved into a comprehensive, multidisciplinary space where we support children and adolescents through psychology, psychomotricity, and speech therapy.
I believe in lifelong learning, always keeping Kurt Lewin’s words in mind: ‘There is nothing so practical as a good theory.’ Since joining Mayrit in 2021, I have worked closely with our wonderful team and families to offer a holistic approach that supports both the emotional and academic well-being of our students.
I am here to listen, guide, and accompany every child. I believe that if a child cannot learn the way we teach, perhaps we should teach the way they learn—because the ideal is not for a child to accumulate knowledge, but to develop capabilities. When learning difficulties arise, I believe true satisfaction lies in the effort, not just the achievement.
As a mother of two, I have learned firsthand the importance of Positive Discipline and chose to train formally in this approach. This has deepened my understanding of children’s emotional and behavioral needs, providing me with valuable tools to support families in their daily lives. I am thrilled to be part of this community and to contribute to the growth of the Mayrit family.
