MENTOR

As far back as I can remember, I have always been teaching, explaining, or sharing what I knew—back then it was math, physics, and chemistry—though in a much more traditional way than I do now. I began giving private lessons in high school and continued while studying Statistical Sciences. Those studies led me to start my professional life in the world of IT.

It took several years for me to realize that it wasn’t my true calling. I decided to pivot and leave my job to dedicate myself exclusively to my studies, graduating as an Early Childhood Educator.

On this journey we call life, I’ve had time for many different experiences: volunteering at a nursery school during my teenage summers, running the community cultural center in a small village in Madrid’s northern mountains with friends, backpacking through wonderful places, and practicing yoga for many years now…

Becoming a mother made me pause some things and start others. It gave me clarity on where I wanted to head and the kind of education I wanted to be part of. This sparked a personal search for alternative pedagogies, aiming to offer an education rooted in a respectful and trusting gaze toward the child, their rhythms, and their interests—respecting the natural maturation of life processes in childhood.

This path of continuous learning has led me to specialized training in Montessori Methodology, Active Listening and Non-Violent Communication (NVC), Mindfulness, Pikler, and Positive Discipline.

At Mayrit, I am happy to accompany children in a space where each child’s essence is respected, where they can be whoever they want to be at any moment. In this journey, it is I who learns something new every day, for they are my teachers—and all of this in close contact with nature. I couldn’t ask for more!”
