Ángeles Blasco
PEDAGOGICAL DIRECTOR
I was born in Buenos Aires, the third of what would eventually be four sisters. Since I was a little girl, I have always been full of energy and joy, eager to explore my world.
When I was six years old, my family moved to Armonk, a town about 60 kilometers north of New York City. Three years later, back in Argentina, I realized I hadn’t just learned a language—more importantly, I had learned to love people from different cultures and to navigate diverse environments with great ease.
I have always sought a connection with childhood.
During my teenage years, I spent summer vacations in southern Argentina, living in and teaching within indigenous communities. In 2003, I moved again, this time to Spain, where I graduated with a degree in Psychology from Camilo José Cela University. My final thesis was based on my practical work at the Down Syndrome Foundation of Madrid.
A few years later, my daughter and then my son arrived. Without a doubt, they deepened my desire to discover alternative paths for upbringing and education. I began with a brief introductory course in Montessori Pedagogy and continued my studies in Active Pedagogy and Active Listening with Antonio Guijarro. I followed this with training in Manipulative Materials and Support in Sexuality Education.
I have had the privilege of accompanying boys and girls for seven years in active schools across Madrid. Finally, in September 2024, I arrived at Mayrit, where I feel at home.
